About UsPublic Safety Psychological Services was formed in 2006 when Dr. Michael Roberts purchased Personnel Consultation and Selection from Dr. James Tracy who had grown his firm over a 30-year period. The law enforcement profession has recognized Dr. Roberts, President of Law Enforcement Psychological Services, Inc. (LEPS) of California, for such contributions as co-designer of the San Jose Model Field Training and Evaluation Program, formulation of standards for psychological selection of law enforcement officers presented in the FBI course for police administrators since 1978, development of post-trauma debriefing programs for law enforcement officers, development of special unit selection techniques, and publishing research on entry-level selection, casualty officers, the Field Training Program, and adverse impact issues.

PSPS serves over 70 public safety agencies in Washington, Alaska, and Idaho. In the past year, PSPS psychologists screened over a thousand applicants for positions as police officers, deputies, corrections officers, firefighter/EMTs, dispatchers, crime scene technician, SWAT team members, Crisis Negotiators, Armed Security Officers, and other types of public safety support personnel.
