Ryan Roberts, J.D., Ph.D. received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. Prior to his career as a public safety psychologist, he worked as a patent attorney, combining his training in law (University of Michigan, JD) and engineering (MIT, BS). Dr. Roberts’s diverse background is well-suited to the management of screening psychologists in this heavily regulated field, as well as to the research that is essential to practicing this profession at the highest level.

Dr. Ryan Roberts is the Vice President and co-owner of LEPS, Inc. and the co-owner of JRA, Inc., a publisher of specialized assessment reports for public safety psychologists. Dr. Roberts is the co-author of the latest versions of each of JRA’s test reports for the CPI, PAI, and STAXI-II, which are currently being used in the screening of applicants to all of our client agencies. In addition, Dr. Roberts is the lead researcher for JRA, and most recently published a peer-reviewed journal article on the predictive utility of the CPI in public safety evaluations.

Dr. Roberts holds Professional Licenses in the following states: Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Illinois (inactive), New York, Alaska, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, North Dakota, and California. Dr. Roberts also holds the PSYPACT credential.
